Brush clearing & overgrowth removal

Knock back thick brush, invasive shrubs, overgrown fence rows and grown-in trails — and turn it into mulch instead of burn piles.

Wide trail cut through dense overgrown brush with mulch covering the trail floor

When was the last time you could reach every part of your property?

Thick brush and unwanted growth block trails, hide boundaries, restrict equipment access and make valuable acreage nearly impossible to enjoy. Brush & Blade selectively opens trails, access routes and priority areas without unnecessarily clearing the entire property.

What we clear

  • Invasive shrubs common in West Michigan — autumn olive, glossy and common buckthorn, bush honeysuckle and multiflora rose.
  • Overgrown fields and pasture taken over by saplings and brush.
  • Fence rows and property lines that have disappeared into the brush.
  • Grown-in trails for walking, hunting and ATVs.
  • Underbrush beneath mature trees for a cleaner, park-like woods.
  • Stumps — ground down with stump mulching where you need a cleaner finish.

Stump mulching & stump removal

Leftover stumps get in the way of mowing, trails and future projects. We grind stumps down with the mulcher, and for areas headed toward lawns, driveways or structures, we can plan deeper stump work as part of site prep.

Keeping it cleared

Many invasive species resprout from roots. Mulching knocks them back and gives you usable ground again; periodic maintenance mowing or follow-up treatment keeps them from taking over. We’ll talk through a realistic plan for your property during the walkthrough.

FAQ

Brush & Overgrowth Removal questions

Will the brush grow back?

Some species — especially invasives like autumn olive and buckthorn — will try to resprout. Mulching resets the property; periodic maintenance keeps it that way. We’ll recommend a maintenance approach that fits your goals.

Is brush clearing the same as brush hogging?

Not quite. A brush hog is a rotary mower for lighter growth. A forestry mulcher handles thicker brush, saplings and small trees and grinds the material much finer.

Can you clear just a trail or fence line?

Absolutely. Plenty of our projects are targeted — a trail network, a fence row or access to the back of the property — rather than whole-property clearing.
