Clearing your land shouldn’t mean destroying it
Traditional clearing often means bulldozing everything, pushing it into piles and leaving you with ruts, bare dirt and a bill for burning or hauling. Forestry mulching is different. We process unwanted vegetation right where it stands and leave a layer of natural mulch that protects the soil.
- Selective. We work around mature hardwoods, landscaping and features you value.
- No giant brush piles. Material is mulched on site — nothing to burn or haul.
- Low disturbance. Tracked equipment and mulch cover help limit ruts and erosion.
- Efficient. Cut, grind and spread in a single pass with professional-grade equipment.

Holli handles the plan. Sean handles the machine.
Brush & Blade is an owner-operated West Michigan company — no call centers, no sales reps, no subcontractors showing up who’ve never heard your name. Holli is your point of contact for the conversation, walkthrough, quote and follow-up. Sean operates the equipment and makes sure the finished result matches the plan.
Your property shouldn’t be treated like the next address on a list. Every project begins with listening: your priorities, the terrain, what should stay, and what can realistically be accomplished.

Frequently asked questions
What is forestry mulching?
Forestry mulching uses a compact track loader with a high-speed mulching head to cut and grind brush, saplings and small trees into mulch in one pass. The mulch stays on the ground to protect the soil, so there are no brush piles to burn or haul away.
Can you clear brush but keep the trees I like?
Yes — that is what we do best. Before any work starts we walk the property with you, mark what stays and what goes, and then selectively clear around the mature trees, landscaping and natural features you want to keep.
What areas do you serve?
We are based in Grand Rapids and serve Kent, Ottawa, Muskegon, Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Montcalm, Newaygo, Mecosta and Oceana counties across West Michigan.
How much does forestry mulching cost?
It depends on vegetation density, tree size, terrain, access, acreage and the finish you want. We walk the property, then give you a clear written estimate that explains exactly what is included. See our forestry mulching cost guide for the details that drive price.
Who will I actually work with?
The owners. Holli handles the first conversation, the property walk, your estimate and follow-up. Sean runs the machine. You deal directly with the people doing the work from start to finish.
